Here is my first ride on a borrowed Specialized Turbo Levo electric assist mountain bike! Overall I thought it was really fun to ride and I felt right at home on it immediately. The pedal assist was really helpful on the short climbs this trail features as well as accelerating out of tight areas that take away speed and momentum. The bike would “top out” on the flat out straights at 20mph and was difficult to make it go much faster than that. Handling was similar to what I was used to on my personal mountain bike and I was still able to throw it around over jumps, despite it’s increased weight.
Be sure to check with your local trail/trail association to make sure use of E-bikes is allowed before riding one on it.
